F2P Pillars

Like a well-built structure, a training program has to have a solid foundation to serve as its base, and then on top of the base the walls and roof are added to form a solid building. At F2P, our four pillars serve as the foundation from which our athletes build their athletic success. Intent, Consistency, Knowledge, and Development combine to define what it is to train and succeed in sports and in life. At F2P we train intelligent athletes who have the desire, the knowledge, and a plan that sets them on a disciplined path to success.

Intent

“The thing that you plan to do or achieve: an aim or purpose”

— Webster

Training is time consuming, difficult, expensive, and while we aim to make sessions fun and engaging, the fact is without a purpose, much time and energy can be wasted. Every athlete at F2P discusses with the staff their intended goals from which a training plan is established. This pillar makes sure we are not just going through the motions or training for trainings sake, but training with the intent and understanding of joint actions. The athlete needs to have complete control of their intent for each repetition because each repetition is a building block and should have a direct focus on the execution. Before each session or exercise, the athlete should be able to answer the question, “What was my objective?”

Consistency

“Firmness of constitution or character”

— Webster

The path to improvement in any sport is not a mystery: practice, practice, practice. Athletes that stick to their goals and are consistent in training typically experience the greatest success. What separates the champions is the mental strength AND character to stay the course without fail. It is mentally challenging to establish a plan and stick to it over the long term. We all want instant results, and at F2P we believe that the immediate results are building blocks for your longer-term targets. We try to help our athletes execute a consistent training plan that yields the desired outcome over time. The consistency is not just about constantly training; it’s about doing the necessary things inside and out of F2P to allow the desire results to emerge during a competition. While on the path we establish specific signposts to measure progress and success, which creates the encouragement to remain consistent on the path to the end goal. Long-term development is about staying the course to get immediate results while allowing the efforts to grow over time to reach an athlete’s full potential.

Knowledge

“Information, understanding, or skill that you get from experience or education”

— Webster

At F2P we train educated athletes. We want our athletes to have control over what they are doing and understand why they are doing it. Our trainers spend time individually designing each program so that every element works to reach the desired outcome. We want our athletes to understand the purpose and use the knowledge to reach their maximum potential. If you don’t understand a movement or exercise, it loses some value and effectiveness. At F2P we also commit to improving our own knowledge. Every day we read, monitor, and speak with athletes so we can continue to design programs that push our athletes toward their goals.

Development

“The act or process of creating something over a period of time”

— Webster

The development of our athletes is at the core of our existence. Goal setting and tracking the progress toward the goal is critical to success in competition and in life. F2P is a results oriented facility and we understand that progress needs to be made. Everything we do is to help develop the athlete physically and mentally. We continuously track progress toward those goals initially established by the athlete. We want athletes who are passionate about their progress and want to measure success and be held accountable. Together we can help our clients evolve as athletes and individuals.
